Corrections Policy

Accuracy is a commitment, not an aspiration. When we get something wrong, we correct it. This page describes how corrections work at POPR Newsroom.

What Constitutes a Correction

A correction is warranted when a published report contains a factual inaccuracy — a claim that is not supported by the cited sources, a claim that is contradicted by independent evidence, a material omission that changes the meaning of a finding, or a figure or date that is incorrect.

Updates to reflect new developments — where the original report was accurate at the time of publication but circumstances have changed — are noted as updates with a new last-verified date rather than corrections. The distinction is noted on the affected page.

How Corrections Are Made

When a correction is warranted, we update the affected article directly. The correction is noted visibly on the page, including the nature of the error and the date it was corrected. The last-verified date is updated. We do not silently revise published content without notation.

For significant corrections that materially change the conclusions of a report, we assess whether the report should be retracted or substantially revised, and we note that assessment on the page.

How to Submit a Correction

If you believe a published POPR report contains a factual error, contact us at the address on our Contact page. Please identify the specific claim, the article URL, and the evidence you believe contradicts the published claim. We will review every submission and respond to those that raise substantive concerns.

We do not correct opinions, framings, or editorial judgments that you disagree with. We correct factual inaccuracies.

Timeline

We aim to assess correction requests within five business days of receipt. Material errors that can be verified quickly will be corrected within two business days of confirmation. More complex corrections requiring extended research may take longer; we will communicate the status of open correction requests upon inquiry.

Disclosure

We maintain an internal record of all corrections issued. We do not publish a public corrections log at this time, but the corrected articles carry visible correction notes.
