Josephe “Pop” Buchanan’s current work is converging around an unusual return: the recovery platform that made him a public writer now sits beside AI research, software, consumer tools and a renewed push into music, fiction and visual storytelling. Buchanan founded Sober Is Dope after entering recovery on December 15, 2012, and developed the project through podcasting, books, prayer, affirmations and long-term recovery education. That work established the personal and publishing foundation for the businesses and creative properties that followed.
He later founded POPR Technologies Inc., where current work spans accountable artificial intelligence, provenance, continuity, restraint, software and consumer tools. The company’s research and product work now sits alongside a public creative history that includes music, books, characters, fiction and the Meta Is Dope creative house he co-founded with filmmaker Jennifer Ruff.
That convergence is most visible in the return toward active artistic production. Meta Tron World is one part of the larger movement, alongside Meta Is Dope, music, visual development, cinematic experimentation and the effort to connect those properties to technology without pretending that software created the underlying creative history.
